Ribbon Cuttings

Planning a ribbon cutting? There’s no better way to celebrate a significant moment in the history of your business or announce your presence in your local community than with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Reasons to host a ribbon cutting:
  • Opened your doors in the last 12 months or to recognize a Grand Opening
  • To celebrate an anniversary or special achievement
  • Offering a new product or service
  • Remodeled or expanded your current location
  • Moved to a new location
  • Welcoming new employees
What is the benefit of a ribbon cutting:
  • Introduction to the community and chamber members to your business
  • Begin/increase your customer base
  • Familiarize the community with your products and/or services
  • Creates a great photo opportunity for your business

What typically takes place at a ribbon cutting:
  • The designated business representative will welcome attendees and give a brief presentation about the company. This is a great opportunity to thank your team/staff and to educate attendees about your company’s mission and values and about your products/services.
  • Elected officials will say a few words of congratulation, if present.
  • The Chamber President or designated Chamber Representative will say a few words, if present, to welcome the business to the Chamber community.
  • After the presentation, a group photo will take place with your key team/staff at the front to cut the ribbon.
  • Networking can take place before and after the speaking program and ribbon cutting along with tours of your facility, if applicable

It’s your day to shine a spotlight on your business. If you would like our assistance planning your ribbon cutting, we can help you. Your company must be a member of the Chamber at least two months prior to your ribbon cutting. This way, we get to know you and your business before your big day. We can then help you:

  • Plan your ribbon cutting ceremony from start to finish, including where to best stage the ribbon cutting, outlining an appropriate speaking program and photo opportunities
  • Order the perfect ribbon and scissors, which can be branded for your business, or you can borrow ours
  • Order give away items for attendings
  • Invite local stakeholders and Chamber Members

While there is no fee for a Chamber Representative to attend and say a few words of welcome at your ribbon cutting, there is a fee associated with us helping to plan your ribbon cutting ceremony.
