Board/Volunteer Committees

  • Executive Committee: The Chamber’s Executive Committee consists of the Chair of the Board, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice Chairs and other members of the board who are appointed by the Chair of the Board.  The Executive Committee is charged with ensuring effective delegation from the board to the President of the Chamber, recommending policies for Board implementation, and managing planning processes.
  • Government Affairs: Chamber Members interested in public policy issues and coordinating events with public and elected officials are invited to join us at a Government Affairs Committee meeting.  This Committee is charged with revising the Chamber’s advocacy platform on an annual basis and recommending advocacy issues that align with that platform for Chamber action.  Additionally, this committee recommends topical areas for Chamber events and public officials to engage as speakers. The Committee meets every other month. 
  • Hudson County EMERGE - The Young Professionals Community: This committee develops programs and events to engage entrepreneurs and professionals in the 20 – 40 age cohort.  This committee coordinates bi-monthly Hudson County EMERGE business networking and professional development events.  The Committee also leads efforts to engage the business community in community volunteering with the Chamber’s non-profit members. The Committee is open to all Chamber Members and meets on the first Friday of every month.
  • Legends Ball: This committee produces the Chamber’s premiere gala event, the Annual Legends Ball, typically held in December. The committee is also responsible with defining the criteria for candidates to be honored as Legends and for soliciting nominations from the Chamber Membership and recommending honorees. The Committee, open to Chamber Members and Board Members, meets from Spring to December each year.
  • Annual Business Meeting: This committee produces the Chamber's kick-off event, the Annual Business Meeting, which takes place in January/February each year. This committee recommends key-note speakers for the Chamber's gathering of its membership. The Committee, open to Chamber Members and Board Members, meets in the fall and winter.
  • PLAY GOWF!: This committee produces the Chamber's premier golf outing at Bayonne Golf Club, which takes place in June. This Committee, open to Chamber Members and Board Members, meets from January to June.
  • Chamber Ambassadors: This committee comprises Board and Chamber Members and supports the Chamber’s efforts to grow its membership base through formal membership drives and open house events.
  • Nominating Committee: The Nominating Committee supports leadership development for the Chamber's Board of Directors and meets annually in the fall to prepare a slate of candidates for service on the board and as officers of the board. The Committee, made up of both Board Members and Chamber Members, is by invitation only.
