Hudson County’s popularity as a destination for tourists from throughout the United States and Canada has grown steadily since the introduction of Statue Cruises ferry service from Jersey City’s Liberty State Park to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Liberty State Park, home to the world class Liberty Science Center, offers incomparable views of the Manhattan skyline and New York harbor from its section of the Hudson River walkway, and is a favorite destination of many who come to Hudson County for the first time.
Hudson County hotels are located twenty minutes from Newark-Liberty Airport, and offer convenient access via public transportation to historic, cultural and entertainment attractions throughout the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. Cuisine from at least 6 continents is served in restaurants throughout our ethnically diverse county, and in Spring 2006, the world’s largest passenger ship, Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas will sail from the Cape Liberty Passenger Terminal in Bayonne.
